OTEP Begin Work On New Material
June 15, 2005OTEP frontwoman Otep Shamaya has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"I am very pleased to announce that we have turned the cog and are in early developmental stages of writing our next album ... We will be recording our next opus sometime this fall. I am proud and honored to have this opportunity and extend my thanks and appreciation to our label [Capitol Records] for their continued belief in me and the music we create.
"As for summer touring, Gigantour is still a possibility ... But regardless, we will be ravaging the savage summer — somehow, some way ... and with new material to massacre the masses with."
OTEP's sophomore album, "House of Secrets" (2004),was produced by Greg Wells, who has previously worked with a diverse range of artists, including the DEFTONES, MICHELLE BRANCH, and ELTON JOHN. The follow-up to 2002's "Sevas Tra" was recorded at Los Angeles' Rocket Carousel Studios and features guest drumming on six tracks by SLIPKNOT basher Joey Jordison.
